El Paso Water proposes bill increase

{ }El Paso Water continues work toward flood prevention.

EL PASO, Tx (KFOX14) —

Customers could pay more on their monthly water bill for the stormwater charge.

El Paso Water will meet Wednesday morning to discuss the new Stormwater Annual Budget, which includes the increases.

The increase is based on the size of the area in which you live. For example, a residence less than 1,200 square feet would see a four-cent increase. A residence sized 1,201 to 3,000 square feet would see an increase of 8 cents. Any residence larger than 3,000 square feet would see a 17-cent increase.

Nonresidential spaces, like apartment complexes or industrial buildings, would see an increase of 9 cents for every 2,000 square feet.

The fees collected would be used for the stormwater utility services.

The Public Service Board is inviting the public to come to today’s meeting and give their input. It begins at 8:00 a.m. Wednesday at the El Paso Water Main Office building. That’s located next to Cielo Vista Mall.

If the proposed increase is approved, it will be effective on March 1, 2018.
